Reiki - The Sacred Journey

REIKI - USUI SHIKI RYOHO

Based on the Usui System of Natural Healing, Reiki is an Asian form of Bodywork which comes from Japan, yet draws its deeper roots from ancient Tibet. The Western medical model views the human body as being composed of different systems, i.e., the skeletal system, nervous system, digestive system, etc. The traditional Asian medical model views the human body as an energetic system, that when blocked, can create disharmony and eventually dis-ease. Reiki works at this energetic level and literally means Universal Life Energy Force.

As a natural system of healing, Reiki can help reduce stress, agitation, and acute or chronic pain. Reiki is both relaxing and energizing and can aide sleep disorders, as well as, chronic fatigue syndrome. Reiki heals at the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels making Reiki an ideal healing modality for everyone. All ages can benefit from Reiki's healing techniques, as it has no side effects or contra-indications. Reiki can be used in the home, in the emergency room, or in the intensive care units

Sharon Corrigan utilizes Reiki in her tranquil Gold Canyon studio setting, giving the client the ability to move into a deep state of relaxation, waking totally refreshed and energized. Sharon Corrigan has been a Reiki practitioner since 1982, trained by some of the first Reiki Masters in the U.S. She has been a Reiki Master-Teacher since 1997. More recently, Sharon has administered Reiki Therapy at Banner Baywood Heart Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.

REIKI TRAINING

Doctors, nurses, house wives, therapists and people of all walks of life have discovered and are utilizing Reiki for self care, on loved ones, patients and clients.

Having studied and administered many forms of healing techniques, what Sharon loves most about Reiki is that anyone can learn to use it. Through instruction and a special attunement process, the Reiki student is given a healing technique that will enable the student to attain and maintain health, and even administer these same techniques to loved ones and clients.

Reiki training is traditionally given in three or four separate series of classes.

Reiki Level I: Introduces and teaches the individual how to consciously use the Universal Life Energy Force. Level I focus is on the physical level and emphasizes "self-healing" with specific techniques given and a Level I attunement performed, raising the vibratory level of the student.

Reiki Level 2: Sometimes called the Practitioner Level. At Level 2 the student learns advance techniques to administer Reiki on others. Level 2 focuses on the emotional body and how emotions play a role in dis-ease. Level 2 teaches distance healing and traditional Reiki Symbols are given for the first time, along with the Level 2 attunement.

Sharon teaches Reiki Levels 1 & 2 at Central Arizona College in Apache Junction at reduced prices everyone can afford.

In the Reiki Lineage that Sharon Corrigan was trained, the Master level is given in two separate training series: Level 3 Master Practitioner and the Master-Teacher Training.

Reiki Level 3: Master Practitioner; this level is designed for students ready to dedicate themselves to the service of others. The Level 3 attunement is given, as well as, the Master Reiki Symbol. This level is meant to teach the student self-mastery over their life.

Sharon teaches the Reiki Master Practitioner Level 3 privately, as well as, Levels 1 and 2 in a mentorship fashion giving individualized attention to the student.

Reiki Master-Teacher Level: This level is reserved for the rare individuals who wish to share their knowledge and train others. This is an apprenticeship level and unlike the other classes given over a series of evenings or a weekend, this training is given over months. The student must clearly understand all the previous levels and learn to teach the principles of each level, as well as, develop the art of attunement, which makes Reiki so different from other forms of healing.

Sharon is also certified to teach the Karuna Reiki method instituted by William Rand. She offers this training only to Reiki Master Teachers at this time.

A Reiki Certificate is given upon successful completion of each level of Reiki.
